[Toldara Campaign] Notes on Conversion & House Rules
« on: November 02, 2013, 12:51:27 PM »
This post is just to store my ideas for converting my D&D campaign world, Toldara, over to the Perilous Journeys rule system.  Of course, this is all just a first impression.  Additional information will be made available in follow up posts.

Core Abilities
I prefer the players use the point distribution method for determining initial ability scores; the optional point plus die roll method will not be used at this time.

Races
The Toldara campaign was originally done under the D&D rules.  There were several Toldaran races in addition to the standard races - the Anshu (feline), Karnin (canine), Oranian (bird-like), and Slarn (lizard-like).  The Half-Orc was also re-skinned to reflect a curse from the gods instead of actual crossbreeding.  Also, a strict translation would not use the additional races found in PJ but I am leaning towards using them.

Edges
Affinity, Light Sleeper, & Sensitive are currently in development.

Flaws
Deep Sleeper, Odious Personal Habit, & Rude are currently in development.

Professions
I need to develop a list of customized Cleric professions to reflect the different sects.

Guilds & Monsters
Convert these organizations and monsters over to the PJ system.

edit - added a section on edges & flaws.

Personal settings just like people did with D&D :)

This should help with monsters:  http://www.perilousjourneys.com/SMF/index.php?topic=234.0

That's it exactly!

I followed that link and the information is great!  That will definitely make things MUCH easier.   8)

I have started the full on conversion process.  I am working up the races right now and have not quite got them where I want them to be yet.  I will probably post them later in the week.  In the meantime, I am going to post up two resources I created to help myself and whoever else might find it convenient.

Good.  I really would like more edges and flaws ideas.

OK.  I posted up a few (skeletal) ideas for edges & flaws.  Feel free to offer any suggestions at all.

I'm looking at the character races & monsters now...
