"There are 10 kinds of people*"

This is the re-posting of a grand tale of adventure, written via PM between Paul and I over during last six weeks since Silvereye was reduced to dust in an unfortunate transporter accident.  It has spanned some seventy posts, and has finally reached a conclusion that will affect the rest of you.

Quote from: "deimos3428"
All is null, and the void beckons.  You are alone with your thoughts, and your thoughts are the beginning and end.  And so with your own thoughts it begins again.  Reset.  Initialization.  Yet another universe is rushing headlong towards you, ready to be perceived -- or perhaps it is the other way around.

-- Your first thoughts are of nothing.  Zero.  Zilch.  Nobody, nowhere, blackness, darkness.  But still a welcome arrival in the complete and total void.  It is a fundamental building block, for even nothing is a sort of something, a definition of sorts.  And that definition begets more.
1 -- The opposite of zero.  Not-zero.  Something measurable.  Something dimensionable -- another building block.  And that block begets more.
10 -- Permutation.  Combination.  Infinity.  Extensibility.  Comparison.  And so it begins in earnest.
11-- Repetition. Volume.  Pattern.  Functions.  Operations.  Calculations.  Approximations.  Models.  Tests.  Results.
And so it goes, the universe slowly taking shape -- and you as well.

Boot sequence completed.

You begin to sense...and in that shimmering instant you are truly reborn.

Silvereye opens his eyes and looks about a vast black plane, stretching in all directions as far as he can see.  It is marked off in regular squares, spaces some 2' apart -- a grid of impossibly thin glowing filament of varying hue.  He does not seem to be standing on anything at all, but he is standing nevertheless.

He also seems to have a body, and a familiar one at that.  You touch your face, and you feel a tightly wrapped scarf, feel the scars underneath, confirm your pointy Wylven ears.  Feel the pain of each and every wound you've suffered to date, yet at the same time you endure and stand.  You have all of your memories -- and all of your possessions from both the Learth universe and that of the Starship Traveller.

Well, almost.  The colors are off.  Your body glows with a eerie orange hue, each scar a bond across your flesh of darkest night.  You shimmer and are mostly transparent -- like a ghost, you figure.  Your eyes light the way ahead, as twin cyan beams flow from them.

You are no longer alone with your thoughts...there is now yet another world to explore.

"GLADYS?  Any sign of the alleged black hole?
GLADYS:  Negative, Captain, nothing on sensors yet.  Though we are passing an interesting looking yellow-star system that looks capable of hosting intelligent life.  Would you like to drop out of warp to investigate?

Welcome back, players.

This is where I'll be running the second portion of our campaign, away from certain distractions.  I do apologize for the change in venue, but feel it was a necessary evil.  Thanks to Darius for getting this setup in short order.

I hope to have something of note up shortly, but do check in so I know you're about.  Then we'll get started.
